Work Started with Rwaza Health Center in Rwanda
January 17, 2011
Yesterday was a major milestone in MANA’s history: We started our work with the Rwaza Health Center in northwest Rwanda to provide MANA for children who are suffering from severe acute malnutrition.
Before going to Rwaza, we visited the district hospital in Ruhengeri where we met the Hospital Director and the Director for Nutrition. Both were excited to hear that the Minister of Health had approved our work in Rwaza, and we have their full support as well.
We spent the day with the Director and staff members who will be working with us, reviewing the protocols for the diagnosis and treatment of severe acute malnutrition and developed the forms that will equip us to track the progress of each child over the next several weeks.
