MANA Foods Rwanda has a home!

On December 7, we signed the lease on a facility in Kigali. So, MANA Foods Rwanda now has a home! It’s about 11,000 square feet – about one third the size of our US facility.
We plan to install sufficient production capacity to make at least 500 metric tons of MANA per year. That’s enough MANA to serve more than 30,000 children every year in the Rwanda/Burundi/Congo region.
Over the next two months, we’ll be working on the renovation plan for the facility. Should all of our funding requirements be met relatively soon, we expect to start production by mid-2011. There is a lot of work ahead of us, but in midst of it all it’s important to celebrate the good news of this MANA milestone!
