Our global lifeline starts in the American South

Our global lifeline starts in the American South, where local farms and cutting-edge production work together to restore hope and health to those who need it most. From the peanut fields of Georgia to our state-of-the-art facility in Fitzgerald, every step of the process is rooted in community, innovation, attention to detail, and a shared mission to end malnutrition.

From root to RUTF

Every pack of life-saving RUTF starts in the fields of Georgian peanut farmers. Mana purchases 2 million pounds of peanuts per month to enrich every product with the vital energy needed to nourish millions of children worldwide.

Where Mana is made

The Mana production and warehouse facility is an 135,000-square foot state-of-the-art factory in Fitzgerald, Georgia, capable of producing 500,000 pounds of product per day—that’s enough to fill four shipping containers of RUTF every single day, and to feed 10 million children per year. The facility brings vital jobs to the local community, supporting the economy and providing opportunities for families across the region.

Nourished kids fuel thriving communities

Mana is delivered by our partners to communities most heavily impacted by famine, war, and the climate crisis, and is often the final line of defense for children that would otherwise not survive. By equipping the mothers of these communities with the food they need to help their children grow, Mana helps break the cycle of malnutrition. Healthy kids grow into thriving adults, fueling stronger communities for generations.

Our cost plus model

As a non-profit, our only shareholders are the children we serve and the mothers who love them. We sell RUTF to global buyers at cost, plus a small margin. Any profits are then reinvested into the production of more RUTF, a model that allows us to continue to drive down the global cost of this lifesaving medicine.

The power of scale

We’ve helped drive down costs globally from $56 dollars per case in 2010 to $40 dollars per case in 2024, even as inflation has risen by 28%*. Every dollar saved means more kids can receive the treatment they need.
