Child from Chad beats three killer diseases, RUTF among her treatments
Two year old Fadilla before and after receiving treatment for SAM, TB, and malaria at a clinic run by Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
We love seeing the progress this little girl from Chad made with the help of therapeutic food. When she was admitted to the MSF clinic, she weighed half of what a normal two-year-old should. She is now at her target weight.
“Fadilla sits on her grandmother’s lap, sucking on a sachet of ready-to-use therapeutic food, a sweet, peanut-based paste enriched with vitamins and minerals, especially formulated for malnourished children. When a nurse tries to help her squeeze more paste from the packet, she frowns and yells, adamant that no one is going to share her ration.”
